"Mice with severe spinal cord injuries regained much of their ability to walk normally after getting injections of stem cells taken from the brains of human fetuses, scientists in California reported yesterday."
The research was funded by the nonprofit Christopher Reeve Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. StemCells Inc. of Palo Alto, Calif., provided the fetal-derived stem cells.
----
The research done four decades ago by University Professors Emeritus James Till and Ernest McCulloch laid the foundation for all current work on adult and embryonic stem cells.

toad the wet sprocket - walk on the ocean
We spotted the ocean at the head of the trail
Where are we going, so far away
And somebody told me that this is the place
Where everything’s better, everything’s safe
Walk on the ocean
Step on the stones
Flesh becomes water
Wood becomes bone
And half and hour later we packed up our things
We said we’d send letters and all those little things
And they knew we were lying but they smiled just the same
It seemed they’d already forgotten we’d came
Now we’re back at the homestead
Where the air makes you choke
And people don’t know you
And trust is a joke
We don’t even have pictures
Just memories to hold
That grow sweeter each season
As we slowly grow old
Where are we going, so far away
And somebody told me that this is the place
Where everything’s better, everything’s safe
Walk on the ocean
Step on the stones
Flesh becomes water
Wood becomes bone
And half and hour later we packed up our things
We said we’d send letters and all those little things
And they knew we were lying but they smiled just the same
It seemed they’d already forgotten we’d came
Now we’re back at the homestead
Where the air makes you choke
And people don’t know you
And trust is a joke
We don’t even have pictures
Just memories to hold
That grow sweeter each season

PS2 Game: Area 51
Played this game for about 40 minutes yesterday and I ended up dreaming about aliens. I don't think I'm very far into the game yet but so far I like it. I'm enjoying the storyline and the missions.
There's a part where you have to grab a security guards severed arm from the floor. There's a scanning device at the door and you have to put the palm of the hand on the scanner.. that's how it identifies the person. I used the severed hand to enter the room. That's nothing, it gets better.
The noise effects are crazy and the way mutants jump out at you from dark corners is scary. It's very bloody and graphic. The graphics are fantastic. I can only compare it to Silent Hill because I can't think of any other game that has made me jump as much.

Oh my god.
A forgotten workshop of Leonardo da Vinci, complete with 500-year-old frescos and a secret room to dissect human cadavers, has been discovered in Florence, Italy, researchers said on Tuesday.
